Too Cold For Peeps

The Hard Freeze was too much for some 1 week old baby chicks this morning. #1 house with 22 thousand birds, had some bad air leaks from the roof around access doors in the top. it caused a fog of cold wet air in a small area at the far end of the house. the baby chicks, cold and wet, Crouded into small thick packed groups. in an area 40' x 50 foot . 138 birds soffucated because they were so thickly packed on top of each other... it could have been worse.... Take care of any pets that live outside in this cold weather.. a flood light even will provide a lot of comfort to Hunting dogs, Ect. that stay in the pens. Wind Blocks on the fence do help

The small birds cold and wet continued dying even with the holes pluged and heated more the floors dry... the number that croked yesterday after the 138 was 205, Came to a total of 342 !!!!!!

But...on a more positive note; I would like to announce a mega chicken dinner at "fish on line's" house. Y'all come!!!

I laughed at the chicken dinner too !!! The houses I work in are not mine, But, I have 24 Freerange Chickens. Bro says I run a Cripple Chicken Farm... They are the ugliest Dirtiest sad looking Group. almost half are Roosters as large as Turkeys, and they are so filthy they look like they have been in a Forrest Fire, Covered with Black soot. they all Know the Truck when I pull in off the Road its a mad dash from every point of the Compass ----- Feed Me.... Next time I have a whole truck full , I'm Going to get Freebird

Yes I too would like to see some pictures. Sorry to hear about your lost birds. I don't know if you folks have heard about it or not. But some idiot over in Longview,Tx let his dog freeze to death. The vet said it was frozen so solid that he could not even get the dogs temp to estimate how long it had been dead. He had better hope he doesn't get a judge that loves dogs.
