    Default WMAs

I am new to La and have a couple of questions regarding WMAs for deer
    Can you bait/feeder?
Can you leave your stand overnight if portable?
Read yo need to physically report your deer, where?

    1. By all means NO!!!
    2. Not supposed to leave your stand overnight.
    3. There are check stations in the wmas during special hunts ie either sex, bucks only. Any other time it is on the honor system by using your check in/ check out permit.

All wma rules can be found on the website or in the annual pamphlet found in any sporting goods store. Hope this helps.

I used to bow hunt the WMA's for deer.....but have not for years......I suggest going to the Louisiana Dept. Wildlife & Fisheries website and checking there.....I will try to answer as I remember back when....

question 1.....no, but people do....until they are caught.

question 2.....no, but people do during the bow season because not many people there and the wardens are rarely present...leaving it would constitute a claim to that tree and you can not do that....gun season is a different story......don't leave it up.....there are so many people then it sounds like a war.....just to dangerous....I gun hunted one time and never again....a man got shot & killed less than 200 yards from me by his young son.....

question 3....during the gun season the wardens will have a check in/out station....as I remember, you have to check in before you go into the woods.....and check out......during the bow season you hardly ever see a warden.....no check in stations.....just tag your deer asap.....and remember during bow season, no guns with you.....

I dug out the book, Under WMA, It says Still hunt only. No permanent blinds, Bait and feeders not allowed. No elevated platforms with the excieption of portable stands that must be removed from the tree withen 2 hours of sunset. It can be left flat on the ground overnight to hunt the next day, Go Online to check wildlife and fisheries, Different rules apply at some locations ... Federal land are similar. You have self clearing permits at many locations. Reporting game is done on line, Withen a few days of BANGING one
