I am not sure that this is the "correct" answer but i feel like as long as i rinse my trailer off with fresh water and flush my motor within a day or two i am good.

obviously... the quicker you do it the better of you are... but an occasional run in salt with regular runs in fresh wont really hurt your motor.

The saltwater will get into all the tight areas of the trailer. Once done where you are at, find a body of fresh water to back the trailer into. Keep the boat trailered in the water for 10 - 15 minutes. You can also lower your motor and let it run a couple of minutes as well. WD-40 or silicone spray all electrical connections as well.

spray the connections before or after salt water exposure or both??

I've heard running the motor in reverse will while on the trailer and backed in, will help wash the fresh water over the trailer as well.

I will also suggest if you have Bearing Buddies , Fill them with Waterproof grease before you go !!! That will keep the Salt water out of them.

I hooked up the grease gun today to the connection on the hubs? or whatever they are called and gave it a squirt or two...is that good?????

Bearing Buddies have a spring on them that the Grease pushes out when all the air is removed at the Seals . The whole hub will be full and require hardly any other lube. The spring will push lube in as it is needed. Just look at the Disc with the fitting and if it is about an inch inside then it needs a couple of pumps. If the disc is out it dont need any more
