    Redge, I start off by incorporating some rabbit manure and some 13-13-13 into the rows before planting. I side dress with 13-13-13 every 3 weeks until the bulbs start swelling, then I leave them alone except to keep the weed out.

    Gene, how often do you water them? Must be plenty to be so large and not dry out.

    Randy, March, April and May can be real dry here. By then, after growing all winter, they have around 6 to 7 of the 13 leaves they will develop for a perfect onion. It is very important at that time to water regularly. I usually water every 2 to 3 days as time permits. I'll go 3 days when I have to run the hoe in there to get rid of the weeds. That is important also. It doesn't take long with a proper hoe.
