Are you talking about a shoot through hull or actually putting in a through hull transducer. If you want to mount one through the hull I would caution not to do it. Those are made for thick fiberglass hulls, mainly in saltwater applications. Bore a hole through Aluminum hull your setting yourself up for cracks in hull because of hull flex around the hole. Haven't seen anything positive about the shoot through hull transducers.

Just wondering about shooting through the hull. I had enough problems with holes and cracks to actually try to cut the hull. I read somewhere online that a few people did it and it worked . Just wanted to get some more opinions before going though the trouble.

I have heard of using plumbers putty. Put a thin coat on face of ducer, push it down on hull and move it around a little to try to press out any air bubbles, then use a bead of putty to build a little well around ducer and put some water in the well. If it dosnt work no problem to remove and clean putty from face.

Go to Vexilar.com under All Marine Products and look at ACE001 which is a special adhesive kit for through hull transducers
