    Default trailer lights

i re-wired my boat trailer this evening and i put LED tail/brake lights on it. i also put new lights on the sides of the trailer. man, it is lit up like a christmas tree now.

you know the craziest thing.............a blown fuse can really throw a hi-jinx into the working ability of the lights. once i found the blown fuse, it is working like a champ.

nothing as aggrevating as trying to find a short in trailor lights.....better to just rewire the whole thing as you did once they get a little age on them.....the expense is so minor....feels good don't it.....

Been using Optronic LED's since 2003. Every few years a few of the lights in the tail lights go out, but still shines better than traditional light. Never had led side light go out.
If the light is not damage Optronics has a lifetime warranty on their lights. I email Optronics with pictures of the rear lights lit up with no damage. They will send you new lights free of charge. I had my lights changed out 3 times Optronics never given me any issues. Usually I get the kit and just rewire the trailer while I am doing it. Never had major problems or light fuse issues since I put Led's on. Now I connect my lights with marine crimps where I crimp the wires and heat it up all in one. No liquid electrical tape its done.

PS I been getting my trailer inspected $10 at normal vehicle inspection station due to the last few years they have been checking at a few popular landings.

I rewired my trailer with led lights this year, too. Still did not seem right so instead of grounding the lights to the trailer frame, I ran separate ground wires to both of the rear lights and into the pigtail. My trailers have been in the salt water too many times, these extra ground wire look like they may do the trick...
