Trolling Motor for canoe
I bought a 12v 35AH battery as a back-up battery for a long trolling trip in my 14 ft canoe. It weighs 22 lbs and is about 1/2 the weight of my larger 55AH main battery. If cost isn’t an issue, they make lithium batteries that are typically 1/2 the weight of comparable sized lead acid batteries with twice the power, but they cost a small fortune. I have one for my fishfinder after killing multiple lead acid batteries. It works great.
A 30lb thrust Minn Kota Endura is probably the lightest / most economical trolling motor for a canoe, with a max speed of 2.5-3 mph.
