    I have the same type of boat and motor as you and just starting pulling crank baits, to slow the boat down to a fishable speed I used a 5 gal bucket with a 3" hole in the bottom. As mentioned in the previous post the exaust smoke can be a problem at times. Good luck and let us know how you do.
