Default CRAPPIE ON!!! -- ANOTHER DRAWING BY SPECIAL K

As many of you already know... I have been dabbling with art or pencil drawing for a couple of years now since retirement. Lately, I have been attempting to get more involved with action type depictions of crappie and other fish. Among the biggest challenges, however, in trying to achieve this is not only the posturing of the fish, but also any action such as splashing and/or movement of the water.

In this particular drawing, I attempted to show both a surface and subsurface view of a black crappie being brought to the surface of the water -- by you, the greatest crappie fisherman of all time -- and fighting hard just prior to being boated or spitting the hook -- whichever you prefer as an outcome. This drawing by far took more time than any I have done yet, as I am trying to slow things down a bit to try to get better depth, detail and realism in my drawings.

Please take a moment to let me know what you think. You guys and gals are my best critics.

Thank You & May God Bless You & Yours

Looks good but I’d darken the features of the crappie to stand out more.

I appreciate the constructive comment about darkening the features of the crappie to stand out more. I actually lose a whole lot of detail and contrast whenever I take the digital picture with my camera and prolly some more when I upload the photos to my editing software. I try to adjust everything to look right... but any adjustment in one area seems to take away from other areas.

I have always liked Paint, Microsoft Publisher and Paint.net. I've tried some of the more complicated programs... but found I didn't have sense enough to learn them.
