Gene the orange is a rubber type mat texture material a friend gave me , that Im trying out. I bought some 4x8x1/2 foam board I'm also going to try out as flotation it seems to be a lighter material. I think it might work better for crappie when they get hooked. It might let me see the bite a little better and might not have as much drag when reeling in a fish. The ones I fished yesterday worked great it was just really rough water and sometimes it was hard to tell there was a fish on especially with the smaller ones. Going to high rock tomorrow with Mac crappie to try them again , maybe the wind will not be as bad. Trying to find some more yellow release clips to put on the new boards with the foam board.
