I used to fish BASS. I have lots of cranks that I’ve won through the years and lots of baits given out by companies. That bait is a Jay Yellas signature model that is made by Bagleys. Don’t know if they make them or if it was just a promotional model. I looked through all my old stuff and found cranks so I’m using them instead of buying new ones.

Seems that at certain times the more non traditional crappie baits get more hook ups. Sometimes it requires a plain hook and minner

You are right I miss spoke. It is a Berkley and not a Bagley. These things are so old and not in their packaging so I was trying to remember.

I pulled crankbaits for the 1st time yesterday on Randleman Reservoir. It was a fun, but we quit about 10:30 am due to the heat. We ended up catching 25 in a mixed bag of crappie, bass, and white perch. It was a fun and relaxing way to fish as we only had 5 rods out instead 8+ when were longlining jigs. I had a BPS gift card last year and bought a bunch of Bandit 300s in different colors and all of them caught fish pulling them around 1.6 mph and pulling them 6'-11' deep over anything deeper than 10' of water. Water was +/-90.5 degrees on the surface and best bites came in about 16' of water, but we caught them over 30' of water too.

Went back to high rock today and caught about as many cats as crappie. Lol. Ended up with 5 cats and 8 crappie. Guy that was with me lost about a 5 lb bass right at the boat. Bought some of those Arkie crappie cranks to try. They worked good but those small treble hooks don’t hold up to the cats too well.
