    Default Skunked on High Rock

Fished a couple of creeks today. We tried docks, brush, structure and open water from bank to 14 foot. Not a single bite.
Quite a few boats in one of the creeks with us. Didn't see them catching either.
Lock jaw has set in. I hope it was only me.

I'm far from a crappie expert. But, I was fishing where they were caught 3 days ago. I figured they pulled out. 15 foot is the deepest water in the area. They'd need to pack a lunch to make the trip to 20 foot. I really believe they are still in the creek. Just shut down from the conditions. There is always next week, I guess.

Water temp where I fish went from 64 last Sat to 53 yesterday. They are scattered and at least for me are nowhere near the bank. Wind was the victor yesterday.

I guess the body of water makes a difference. Where I fish, I'm rarely very far from 20 fow. I think you are right in that you needed to back out. Pretty far out and right on the bottom.

The fish I found were in 22-24 fow suspended around 11 ft deep. The rain and cold front has pushed them off the banks.

Thanks for the report. I agree that the fish are still there, but the front has shut the bite down. Only caught 3 on Norman Saturday.

never ever accept the fact that “they just aint biting today” if one thing that fishing tournaments will teach you is that theory is wrong, someone always finds a way to catch some good fish, fish in a method, not random madness, have a reason for everything you do and learn from it

What we caught on Saturday were in 27-29ft 6-7 cranks off the bottom in two locations. We fished front 3-7 cranks off the bottom 6-7 was what worked
