Big thanks for this forum. A wealth of knowledge skills and comradery shared to all. I have been able to step my game easily and considerably also the engineering and design of Mr Gene handiwork.

A good outing but not like the videos. HAHA

FIRST TIME. Spider rigging and using foot control trolling motor, mostly casting and vertical jigging. I plan on making some changes with rigging. I was using 4 pounds test going with 8 Wrapped egg weight going to swivel. Broke loop knots going to improve clinch knot. Net sitting vertical.

I gained a lot of confidence Spider rigging in new lake. Caught a keeper 3 by catch and missed 4 keepers. One was 2 pounds +. All beside the boat.

To complete my day as a final finale Iin the wind I hung up on a mound and had to break off lines and cut but saved 2 of 8 jigs. Chinese fire drill. Deptfinderbehind me. Kept turning around to see graph/chirp. No broken rods and a good day

Changes. I will respool 8 pound mr crappie and use improved clinch knot , bead bellow egg weightto #10 swivel and leader to mustard ultra light wire jig
I may have snap swivel on top of leader. But I will have extra leader already made up for retiring. I may change up this configuration later but got a urning to try it. Also I am going to use 3/32 jig heads

Get a "cheap" fish finder unit for front of the boat, put the transducer on the trolling motor. Then you can see what's under you without having to turn around all the time. "Cheap" as in the best you can afford and still consider it cheap I have a black and white refurbished Lowrance I got for $75 years ago, no GPS, but at least I know what's under the front of the boat.

Cabelas sells refurbished Lowrance units occasionally, have to catch them at the right time but they are good deals when they happen.

Great report. This is the kinda report that I like to promote to articles on the home page, all it needed was a picture. If you do more like this, with pics, please PM me with a heads up. Thanks for posting.
