Fished Higgins last week with a friend, more of a stress relief day to enjoy being on the water. Used minnows set at about 10' in 12-17fow, caught several fish 8-11" fish and a few cats. Just before leaving, we're putting things away, bobber slipped down and got this nice surprise!! My measuring board goes to 12", she was 15+. Released to spread her obvious good genetics.![]()

That is a hog ! Congratulations on a good day.
That is a very nice fish especially for Lake Higgins. Glad to see that you caught some other larger size fish for this lake. Maybe minnows is the way to go. I was able to get out one time on Higgins in late June. I longlined with jigs and caught 92 crappie in about 3 hours and never broke 6 inches in size. Glad you shared the photo.

I was long linning out of my kayak about 4 years ago and caught one 17 inches up near the bridge, that one may be an off spring.
