Crappie elbow healed. Went out in Abbots Creek. I found them at 17ft in 20 for. Plenty of them. One 14 in crappie and a 15 in white bass. Bunches of 7 to 9 inches. Around noon, I heard my brain start to sizzle, so I called it a day.
Good job!
Glad you got healed and had some action with the crappies. I need to get back up that way again. Hint to Turkeyfootnc !!!LOL
Fished yesterday on High Rock for the first time in probably 15 years. Never got started until 11:30 and had to fight the wind all day.
Definitely not the best day I ever had but was pleased with the crappies we caught. Had a couple that were close to 12 inches and a number that were 8-9 inches. Also caught three catfish that were around three pounds apiece. Found most of the fish in 15 to 20 FOW. Suspended anywhere from 8 feet down to 15 feet. Tried minnows and slip corks but most were caught on jigs tipped with a minnow.
Best jig for us was Kalin's curly tail in Acid Rain color. Marked some good looking spots to fish later when the wind isn't howling like it was yesterday. All in all a good day on the water.
Released the bigger crappies and the cats in a pan of hot grease for supper today and they made fighting the wind worthwhile.
