Lure is a small, but great fishing lake that is HIGHLY developed, terribly expensive and loaded with rules and regulations. The Town of Lake Lure actually keeps the lake stocked with very healthy fish including Rainbow Trout, Largemouth and Crappie. It's a resort type place that has a population of a few hundred in the winter and many thousands in the summer. Daytime fishing is tough in the warm months because of the immense boat traffic, but from September to April, you'll hardly ever see another boat. They have a fairly extensive website that will fill you in on the cost of fishing/boating: Homepage : Town of Lake Lure Lots of other tourist type things in the area, too, like Chimney rock. It's a beautiful, interesting place that is very busy in the summer.
