Fished the last couple of weekends and we've been averaging 5 or 6 crappie from 1 pound 6 ounces to 1 pound 12 ounces each trip. Today I finally put one in that was 2 pounds 1 ounce (see pic). They all have been gorging themselves on shad. Fishing continues to be very good. Kept a couple for dinner (not the 2 pounder) and released everything else.

Wow! That's a great report. Maybe the spawn will benefit, too, as a result of more forage fish. And, maybe the perch will turn to the shad instead of crappie eggs. Amazing how the life of this lake (assuming this is Jordan) has developed the past few years. I am thinking about when were were waiting for the biologist survey to find out what was happening to the crappie population.
That is a good one. Thanks for the picture.

Thanks. I primarily fish Harris and occasionally fish Jordan. The fish are so scattered and they are at all depths. I marked fish at 25' in 47' of water, caught a bunch on the bottom at 30' and even caught a few in 17'. I've marked a ton of shad balls all over Harris so they have plenty to eat and I've caught very few white perch.
Great going Hockey 86, me and Jordan Limit saw the same thing at Jordan; the fish stuffed to the gills with shad.
We should all have a great season as the temps fall!!
