Caught 60-70 fish on Sunday, kept 40. Water temp varied from 49.6 to 50.1 throughout the day. Most fish caught in 10 to 20' of water, fishing just barely off the bottom. Fish moved deeper as the day went on, which surprised me a little. Where I was at, there were a few bass fishing and a couple fishing for stripers, but we were the only ones crappie fishing. Had some 1.25lb fish. Fished with jigs and minnows, and the fish didn't seem to have a preference as long as the bait was at the right depth.

Very nice.
Nice bunch of fish Jack. We had the same thing happen to us on Harris--as the sun got higher, the fish went deeper. Interesting you were seeing the same pattern.
Dennis, I know the fish move deeper in the sunlight at times, but I figured with the surface temp warming as it was, they'd move up instead of down. It is interesting that you guys experienced the same in the lake, as I did in a tidal river.
Jack your water is cooler too. I measured 56 over on Jordan lake Saturday
I've caught a off the neuse but never in those numbers. I think the best I've ever done is 10 or 12
I was reading 54.5 Monday on Jordan. Jordan is low right now so it is not moving except with windflow. The water Jack is fishing in is tidal and mixes more which will cool faster in cool weather.
