    Default Crappie Screen Shot

What does a school of crappie look like on your fish finder screen?

I'll pull the card from my finder tonight and post what they look like to me. I marked some pretty good schools this week on drop that went from 14 foot to 20 foot. As soon as I saw the school I told my daughter to get ready the poles will be bending any second. Before I finished my sentence 4 poles bent over. She was pretty amazed and I was happy I didn't look like a fool.

I take lots of screen shots and study them when I get home. There is no way I can see all that is going on while on the water. Here are a few with some comments. Some of these shots are late Fall as you can tell by the water temperature.

One of my favorites--active fish feeding on bait and resting fish near the bottom.

Similar location and same fish action.

One from this Summer--not much bait, but these are crappie because we caught some of them.

Can I make a screen shot with my map chip installed or do I have to install a memory chip?

Depends on how many card slots your unit has ... so if there's only the one slot, then you would need a memory chip to capture a screenshot, since the map chips are "read only" and won't allow new info to be added. Your User Manual should show you what sequence & combinations of buttons to push to get a screenshot.

If your computer doesn't have a card reader, you'll have to purchase the card & reader as a "kit". Micro SD cards & reader kits are not very expensive. I bought a thumb drive reader, adapter card, and micro sd 2GB chip as a kit, online, for less than $10 ... several years ago ... and prices haven't changed much, since.
