Default 2nd Annual JORDAN LAKE “Top Shelf” Fishin’ Festival---Friday – September 30, 2016

Please note---PONTOONS AND PORTA POTTIES NEEDED!!!!

Two or three pontoon boats are needed for the Fishin' Festival for our wounded warriors. Some of our vet's sign up and bring a couple of their kids along with their caregiver. They like to crappie fish and pontoons are the best way to handle several folks. Please call the number listed below if you can help. As of a couple of hours ago, nine boats were still needed. Also, two porta potties are needed at the Farrington ramps. There was a local contractor that donated two last year, but he is no longer in business. If you have any contacts, please let Terry know.

One other thing needed is "door prizes" to give each person as they go home from the event. If you know someone that would like to donate, it would be appreciated. Obviously any kind of fishing tackle or something similar would be nice. We already have some Harris Teeter gift cards, so maybe you know some businesses that would like to give by sharing gift cards. At one of the events, someone walked in with a grocery bag and handed it to a volunteer. In it were 50 Bass Pro gift cards worth $50 each, so every participant got to go home with one card. Big or small, it is nice for each of the participants to go home with something as a "freebie".

This event was "sold out" several months ago. Terry has had to turn down a lot of our vet's because he wants to keep the number of boats at 50. There are a lot of folks really looking forward to fishing and we want to give them a good time on the water with many memorable moments. Volunteers are still needed to register people in the morning, help with parking and just help where needed.

Just do it.. Someone that can't go unless someone takes them will be happy to just be on the water. I will bet that you will learn something even if it is not about fishing.

Charles and I are going to pre-fish this Saturday. Freddie is also going to help find some fish. We can all share mobile phone numbers and let each person know where we are catching fish. If you can come out this Saturday, we can help you as well.

Astack, go ask for some help fishing Jordan, maybe someone with lake experience will be your mate for the day.
In my experience just getting on the water makes for a great day for these guys and gals.
Bring lots of hooks and weights cause you'll probably get hung up once or twice.
You don't have to be a guide
