I'll let someone more official chime with in weigh in and attendance numbers, but I can speak for the crappie boats that everyone I talked to caught fish and most had at least a few large crappie mixed in. I think the big fish crappie was 1.55 lbs. Several crappie boats caught 30+ fish.

And we pretty much all got soaked at the weigh-in. Sky opened up and straight poured for about 10-15 minutes.

This was the first event I have been able to attend as a host boater, and it was a fantastic experience! Operation North State is the real deal and Terry and communities involved put their whole heart into making the event great for everyone involved.

The thing that amazes me is the helpfulness of everyone involved. Bluegrasmanic saw that we weren't doing well Long lining the colors I had and gave us the colors he was catching them. By gave I mean he came over and gave us a bag of plastics. That's the best part of the event the willingness to help one another.
Thanks again Bluegrasmanic, see you tonight!

You're welcome, scooper! That was teamhooksetters idea to get the jigs to you and I think he picked up a couple things from the door prizes to give to you tonight.

I want to add my thanks to all the boaters, especially the crappie boaters, that came out and helped for the day. I think all the Veterans that fished on our boats had a good day on the water. Gerry, the former Marine that went with us, told me several times if we do this again next year, he wants to fish with us. I think that's as good a compliment as we can get.

The fishing early was good, but then a small shower came through and it slowed way down. I had good fish on my finder, but could not get them to bite. Several of the guys I talked to said the same thing. For us, it picked back up just before time to end. Several I talked to caught 30 or more with keepers in the upper teens. All of our fish caught on jigs long-ling.

Fished the church tournament on Tillery today and what a difference in lakes. We tried fishing the same way we did on Jordan yesterday and only caught three little ones. Those two lakes are very different and as we are learning, have to be fished differently.
