Thread: Last weeks trip to Santee Cooper....

Hello everyone,
Last week I took my girlfriend down to Santee Cooper to do a little catfishing. I loaded up my boat, and we took off on Wednesday evening. We fished for catfish on Wednesday evening, Thursday morning, and Thursday evening. I normally do a bunch of jug fishing and bush hooking, but we were pole fishing this trip. We done pretty well on catfish, (by my standards), caught 5, 2 around 20lbs, 2 around 10 and one 2-3 lb channel. She had never caught a decent sized catfish on a pole, so when she hooked these she had a blast.

Friday morning we went on a guided trip with Joe Dennis, for a mixed bag trip, Crappie, Bream, or whatever bites. We met up with Joe around 5:20 am, left for the trip, and were back at the camp by 11:30am. We ended up catching 27 Crappie, 2 white perch, and 8 small catfish. Joe Dennis is good company, and he makes sure that the client is happy. My girlfriend likes fishing as much as I do, and when she has a big smile on her face something has to be right!

All in all, it was worth the trip down to Santee, even if we didn't catch but a few fish I am always happy to just be on the water. I will attempt to place pictures into this thread but this will be my first time posting photos so I am not sure if it will work.
