    Default Want new sonar

What would be the best unit for crappie? I currently have a HB 798 ci si, it is not compatible with my I pilot, I would like one that works with it as used for search and rescue as well as fishing. what is everyone using with those requirements? Who or where would be the place or person to get it from? Thanks.

Bobby I bought several units from Brian at BBG marine. Super guy and great service. I doubt he still has any but the 1199 I bought for the new to me rig is by far the best unit I've ever owned. The bigger screen and HD makes a world of difference. Everyone is nuts about the new stuff so its a good time to get one cheap.

Hmmmm, what trolling motor head do you have? i-Pilot or i-Link. If i-Pilot it will not matter what FF you get. It will not talk to the FF. You need the i-Link version.

You will need to go with a Helix 9+. I am looking at installing a Helix 10 on my boat. Should be installing it about this time next month. Here's the compatibility list for i-Link.

I am getting the Helix 10. I have plenty of room for it. I am also going to Side Imaging. That is mostly for cruising and looking. 5mph is the optimum for viewing SI from what I read. Then DI for most everything else.

The link I added before has the list of compatible FF's. You might be able to find something new used as many like to upgrade to the new.
