The Haw River and Deep River join just a short ways below the Jordan dam to create the Cape Fear. The gates on Jordan are often closed to allow water to recede in Fayetteville and Wilmington. As was written, the lake is for flood control and the cities downstream have the priority. All this rain will definitely muddy up the Haw River arm and the S-Curves.
