I have fished that area a few times. Once in a small jon boat and a couple from the bank. There is a small picnic/area on the west side of the river. It's actually called the Tuckertown area because it feeds that section of the river. You can fish from the bank at the picnic area or if you are adventureous enough to walk up to the dam on this side, there are two deep pools that are accessible from this side from some large rocks.Be prepared for a little hard going. Also, if you drive past this section on Bringle Ferry road and turn left on River Road, go about a mile and there is a bridge and some areas that you can fish for crappie here. You can walk around the creek here. Lastly go furthur down River Road (5 mi.) to the wildlife access road and fish there.
