Welcome to the site and thanks for a great first post / report. I know a little bit about Harris Lake and you will find it to be quite the great little fishing spot. What did you do with the big green carp?

Hey guys, first time poster long time lurker here. This will be my first full crappie season here in NC so I'm still learning
I got to Harris around 2pm looking to catch some crappie / perch on my new fenwick 7' ultralight. Landed once perch then this:

The bite really picked up around 4pm through sunset and seems the crappie are very deep, something I didn't realize till the trip was over. I had read this time of year the crappie move to the shallow but a nice angler at the boat ramp mentioned he caught 25 crappie the day before all in 20-25' of water. Landed about 20 perch in the 12-15' range but none of them were cleaning size and 1 very nice crappie:

I'll be out again Sunday morning looking in the 20' range for crappie,

I think you can find them shallow too, I caught them in 10' the other day.
