Maybe if you use a split shot 16" above the hook you can cast over the brush and let it drop to by counting the depth of the brush and reel slow. We cast this way and don't get hung half as much. Heavy lead get's you there but are you really feeling the limbs as you come across them. Just a thought. I don't think it would hurt you to anchor away from the brush and try this method until you think you need to move. You will get the aggressive fish first and then you can work on getting on down a little deeper with a lighter weight. If your not comfortable with that then go drop shot with a longer distance from hook to lead and drop it into the brush with a lighter weight. Hope this helps you. Good luck!
