    Default Crappie in Western NC?

Anyone catching any crappie within an hour or hr and 15 min. of Asheville? Wanting to go hunt some tomorrow. Was considering James, Rhodhiss, Adger, Cedar Cliff, or Bear Lake. I'm open to ANY suggestions.

    Thank you!

I'm sure james has risen 5ft or so in the last couple days and the upper end will be full of trash and colored like tomato soup. With that said, I'd still try it if I wasn't working but sure wouldn't expect much. I have no input on the other lakes you mentioned.

Was catching some on lake hickory, upper part is stained, lower part seems to be clearer, water is up to full pond. Do not know how rhodhiss is looking. Good luck where ever you go!!
Difference between day and night: Day= one rod, one jig/Night= Many rods & a bucket full of minners

Hickory is high as I've seen it in a while. Dook Power has had both wheels running and one gate on Oxford dam open for the last 48 hours or so.
