I was there last Thursday and the fish we caught were deep. We did not do anything in the blowdown trees except for small bass. The fish we caught were suspended about 10' over 15-30 feet of water. The water temp was 57-58 degrees. In the backs of the 3 coves we fished we did not see over 58 degree water. We fished the backside of the lake.

The backside of Badin is the end of the lake opposite the river section. The fork at the dam go East. Thats the portion of the lake I am referring to. Specifically the circle drive portion of the lake. This is often more clear (too clear).

Took my son and wife to Badin Sunday afternoon after the weekend frontal winds had pushed thru. My son is in college and only wants to bass fish. So we were targeting the back of the coves in shallow water for staging bass. I gave my wife a crappie rod with and 1/16 oz jig just to make sure we werent missing some good crappie along the way. Once she caught here 3rd crappie, I laid down my bass rod and tied a small crankbait on and caught 2 nice crappie on it while pretending to bass fish. The water temp was 60 - 61 and clear. Son's gone back to school now and I can get back after em.

    Bucketman,

I caught these this afternoon at Badin. Caught about 30 and kept 14. Biggest was pushing 14".

Water temp 72-73. Fish were 2-6 feet. Another friend caught a limit this evening also. If you make the trip, you should be able to put some fish in the boat.

Nice catch Sky Hawk. I would like to come on to Badin , but the bite has picked up at Tillery too. We fished yesterday morning an caught about two dozen. We kept 13 and released the rest.
