    Default High Rock Crappie limit?

Someone at work was telling me there was a proposed public hearing to remove size limit and creel limit on crappie on high rock lake. Anyone got any info on this?

    http://www.ncwildlife.org/Portals/0/...ng-Booklet.pdf

Crappie F30. Remove the 8-inch minimum size limit and the 20-fish daily creel limit for
crappie on the South Yadkin River downstream of Cooleemee Dam, Yadkin River
downstream from Idols Dam, High Rock Lake, and Tuckertown Lake.
Justification: High Rock Lake and Tuckertown Lake contain crappie populations
that are dominated by fish less than eight inches in total length. Recent
surveys in both reservoirs indicate that only 10% of the crappie is available to
harvest by anglers. The removal of the minimum size and daily creel limits
will allow anglers to harvest these smaller fish which should reduce competition
for food resources for the remaining fish and ultimately improve average
size of crappie in both reservoirs.

Would that cover Badin and Tillery as well?

Badin would not be covered if I understand it right. It would be Yadkin River below Idols Dam, South Yadkin below Cooleemee Dam, High Rock and Tuckertown only.
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Yes, Badin and Tillery have the opposite problem. Low numbers, but the average fish is a solid keeper.

I read somewhere that effective August 1 there would be no size or creel limit on High Rock. Has this been passed for sure?

Was mentioned earlier in thread July 1. I cannot find any info that confirms either date on the internet. Latest I can find is this link from NCWRC email. Hope this helps? N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission > News > News Article

I think most changes to any laws for hunting and fishing always go into effect on July 1 of that year.

As of August 1 of this year, size and creel limit for crappie will be removed on High Rock and Tuckertown and u will be able to use as bait and even cut, this is for those lakes. That is per our capt and the sgt over that area!!!!
