Well you can just look on Google earth, find where you wanna go, then print it out and you'll have a map. You can get handheld GPS units for under $100 though.

Do you have a smart phone? There is a Navionics app in the play store that lets you do all that a gps unit will, cheap for what is is capable of.

I've got one of those on my phone, but there are some spots on the Black River where you get no data, no matter the carrier. But where there's service it works great!

Just about any GPS now comes with a data cable and you can enter coordinates on the computer program then download to the GPS. It's so easy a cave man (Newly) can do it.

Garmin E-trex's are good units and can be found for about 100.00 depending on which E-trex you get.

Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

I got the app and look for outdated GPS units on sale. If just for GPS service even look at ones used

Hey Enoman, how ya been? As everyone else has said a handheld gps will work fine for you, but if you are using it on your boat all the time just for fishing I would invest in a gps/fishfinder combo. I think you would be happier with it. You can find them used and with those map chips they make you won't believe the detail you can get while on the water. It totally changed the way we fish and catch.

A Smart Phone and apps: MX Mariner, and/or Maverick should give you what you need. Keep in mind that bright sun can affect who well you can see what is on the screen. B----
