Braid is about all I use. 15/4 for rigging and 8/2 for single poling. Though lots of guys don't like it.

Do you typically use a flouro leader or just tie straight to your jigs?

I use 20 lb. Suffix orange braid. Best line I have ever used for crappie. They feed from below so they can't see it anyway.

No, our water is dingy enough and when fairly clear I have never seen a difference. I might if I fished some of the deep clear lakes though. I have just never seen crappie to be very line shy like bass or trout.

10/2 Power Pro, high vis yellow. I especially like it in the winter when fishing deep or when the bite is light.

Fireline Crystal from 4# to 20#
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
