finally found some crappie in the black river. moved to burgaw about a year ago and just couldn't seem to catch any freshwater fish I wanted. have caught plenty of flounder, red drum, trout. and lots of other salt fish. found fish today where friedfish said they would be. just had to keep picking away at em, 1 or 2 at a time. ended up with 14. biggest was 13 1/4'', 5 12'' fish, kept 5 for the fryin pan. had to eat durn flounder last nite. fish in rivers here are not as long as jordans or harris, but they are real fat. like footballs. only caught 3 on jigs, rest on minnows, 6ft deep in 13ft water. hope to catch another good day soon.
