At Hollemans? That was us. You probably talked to Mike; he uses the ramp with his Jackson Big Rig. I was in the little blue kayak launching off the other side of the point with the guy in the Wilderness yak. I have a light boat and I like taking my time rigging at the water before I take off so I don't use the ramp. I went down to where it drops of to about 35' near shore planning to zig zig drifting and jigging. It was more like high speed trolling. I got some hits on a drop shot with a small hair jig but they weren't of a mind to chase it and I couldn't keep it in one spot. I gave that up and crossed over to the point across from the ramp hoping it had less wind and I could jig around the roadbed. Maybe it did have a little less wind, but it was still pushing too fast. I finally backed into the weeds near the mouth of one of the little coves and had a few peaceful minutes with the sun out and the wind blocked. The only thing that would have made it better was if I could buy a bite in the cove, but that wasn't happening. Still good to get out of the house and paddle.
