Thread: Warning. VRO PUMPS

Just got the word from the boat doc. $4700 high end eat. That is new power head, had hole in one piston and no compression on another, new water pump kit, all 4 carbs rebuilt, new fuel/water separator, new gas lines and new spark plugs. Boat doc said NKG plugs were in the motor and specs call for Champions, the NKG would not cross ref to anything close to what was spec for that motor.

Boat doc said to use blue Sta-Bil, the red does not address the etho issues in the gas

Been using the marine stabil with just regular gas in my 90 Yamaha for a long time boat runs fine everytime. I wonder how ethanol free the 15-30 cents a gallon higher "ethanol free gas" really is? Anyone ever tested it or even know how to

Well I picked it up today, $4763.17. Mech said could be VRO or the incorrect spark plugs the prior owner put in it. Anyway it fixed now.

I use to only use the premium ethanol because a mechanic show it to me in a quart jar it had less water in it then the regular and said that's he would use with blue stabil run good 2 stroke 115 mer. Now a store carrier real gas and that's what I use, but I still put a less stabil and seaform.

use "pure gas" free app on smart phone and you can always find ethanol free gas where ever you are.
