Norman is a mad house on the weekend of the 4th. Be careful, I'm sure fishing will be frustrating dealing with all the boat traffic. The crappie have gone deep, some of the deeper docks are still holding a few. The river channel has been holding a few on the edges of the creek channels that flow into it, and Mountain Creek still has a few. Last year there were some good slabs in Little Creek during the summer, but haven't made it back there this year. I've seen quite a few folks night fishing up the river channel, but most of the other fishermen have gone to pursuing catfish now that its hot. Good luck.
