    Default Inflatable life vest

I have been out of the water for the past couple of years and am ready to get back at it. I will be taking my 14 yr old grandson and want him to wear a life preserver. I know the big bulky ones are out of the question and I've been reading a little about the inflatable type. Does anyone on here have any experience or could you recommend a certain type. Price will come into play and the recharging price is important to. Any help would be appreciated.

Cabelas has one on sale for 76.00 right now, its auto inflate, I don't think you could go wrong buying it as that is what we use. I don't know if it is the same model but we like ours.

Just remember that law enforcement does not consider an inflatable PFD a PFD unless it is being worn. It will not count as a PFD on board the boat if it's in a compartment or on the floor of the boat.

I looked and you have to be 16 in Illinois to wear one, you might want to check to see if he can legally

My grandson can swim good but he broke his wrist and is in a cast that is why I especially want him to wear one all the time we are on the boat. I do think it is a good practice for everyone. I never thought about an age restriction.

We finally got out there Friday night and had a great time. Brought home 20 for eating. It has been so long since I caught some that I had forgot just how good fresh crappies are. My goodness what great fish. My grandson caught a couple of gar and that got pretty exciting.
