I caught my biggest 20 minutes after a spring downpour let up.
If you mean how many days should you wait after a significant rain event, I think that all depends on the conditions like temperature, water clarity, etc.

How has everyone done since we have all this rain coming down? and how long do you usually wait before fishing after a lot of fresh water has fallen?

much different between a warm rain and a cold freezing rain, one will turn fish on and the other will turn them off, unstable water makes for hard fishing, but always remember that in any kind of weather that someone is probably catching some, you just have to adjust and throw every thing at them even your tackle box,no really you have to try to present your bait in a way that he will bite more so than continuing changing baits, have one you have a lot of confidence in and pay much attention to what you are doing,if that way will not work may have to try something off the wall,we can not always go by the book because the fish on that day read another book![]()

I have caught plenty of catfish in high water after big rains, but I have always heard to stay away a few days and let the lake drop back down and let the water clear up. I have never tried to catch crappie after a hard rain. But, I plan to try some one day this month, having to work a bunch of weekends, so I haven't had the time.
Fishing is a science, study, experiment, fail, and succeed...then start over tomorrow. Yeah I'm a science guy.
