    Default Harris 2/23

After a few months of chasing rockfish, I finally made it out to Harris today for some long overdue crappie fishing. Fished from 10 to 2, kept 32 from 10-13 inches, about the same # of throwbacks all 7-9 inches. Everything on minnows 25-30 ft in 36-40 fow. Now back to the coast for some reds!

Thanks for the report, I need to get out to Harris soon.

You must've found the school because we just could not get on them yesterday at Harris. We fished the point area close to the dam from around 1 till 4. You can tell the warmer weather is bringing more people out because the lake had quite a few boats on it with most being the bass rockets. My kids thought it was funny to see all the boats on the North end doing 100mph to get to the South end and the South end boats doing 100 to get to the North end. Had a couple a couple of boats get a little uncomfortably close a couple of times. There were also a lot of kayakers out too. Those guys are brave to say the least.

I stayed away from that area due to all the boat traffic. I fished 3 different areas with the same results in all 3. The trick seemed to be the water depth, if I got out of the 36-40 ft range......nothing. And couldn't get bit if my baits were deeper than 30.

Think i saw you out there. We caught 50 or so mostly 8-9" fish, dragging minners along the bottom in 35 to 40 fow.

Thanks for the report Matt. Sounds like a fun and productive day working on those fair weather suspenders. I didn't hear you or brimmbum talking about catching many or any white perch though.
What's up with that you think?

Wayne, I didn't catch any? Although I did mark a big school of fish that I suspect were perch giving the location and history of that spot.
