    Default Badin 12/15

Fished Badin this afternoon for a few hours. Caught 7 jigging brush. Fish were down in the tops of the brush in deep water. best piles were in 30 ft. and the fish were about 20 ft. down in the top of it. Found a lot of fish under bait on some secondary channel ledges 25-35 ft. deep and spider rigged up and down the ledges for a couple hours with no bites. I'll be sure to bring some minnows next weekend to spider rig. I'm sure if I had some meat at least a few of those fish would bite. Maybe next time! All fish I caught were 11-12 inches and released to swim another day.

Hey Rookie. Thanks for the Badin report. I have a place at BSR and I'm retiring Jan. 2nd. I want to learn how to catch crappie year round, not just spring. Is January a good time? If so, what area of the lake? Striper fishing is my favorite and crappie a very close 2nd choice. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Shotgun

Yeah, you can catch crappie out there all year man. I like the cold months best. no idiots to deal with in the winter. The crappie and stripers have been doing pretty good this year. I'll take ya' out and show ya' around some time and we'll get on some fish. If you're living on Badin, I'd suggest learning to perch fish too. When the crappie fishing gets tough, it's no problem to put 100 white perch in the boat and they eat good. Tight lines man!

I'm not living there, but hope to be there more after retiring. Where are the stripers being caught and what method? Live bait, trolling u-rigs, bucktails?? Yeah, we'll have to get on some fish sometime. I have a center console Century. I'll post a report whenever I get to go out. Take care and Thanks again!

They will bite shad but I like cut white perch best. Big shad are hard to come by but little ones at e easy in Garr creek. Fish deep around drops with bait on them and you'll get em.
