    Default Minn Kota

I have Minn. Kota V2 with an i Pilot with "spot lock" feature. it works pretty well on my Pontoon boat, but would be even better on a boat that is less susceptible to wind.

Crewmax42 - Have you tried using an achor once you turn the spot lock on? I don't have an i-pilot, but it seems like the achor would cut down on battery use.

I have considered doing that to reduce the "swing around" when it is really windy. But, to tell the truth, I don't find the I pilot to be a battery drainer. Actually, the opposite. I see much less a drain on my two batteries (in parallel) than I did with my co-pilot. I like to think that Minn Kota improved the battery requirements with the I Pilot.
