Odd that this post came up after several years,Those were stolen from my barn last week.Someone knew what they were and thought they could trade them for drugs,Why would anyone steal three rabbit gums this time of year anyway?How would someone explain to the sheriff how they got a load of birdshot I their @ss..Not from stealing rabbit gums I bet!!!!!.

Those are too purty to leave in the woods. Hey, my wife caught a baby possum with her hands last weekend around our deck. When I was a tyke, we had a good snow and my dad and his friend went rabbit hunting with sticks in our neighborhood. (he was an Alabama boy)

Sometimes I think back to my younger days as a small boy growing up in the country,I am 72 years old and have never lived inside the city limits of any town,I would pickup my single shot Remington 22 rifle and with that and a handful of 22 shorts I would spend the day in the woods or along the creek walking up rabbits or stalking squirrels.Those were the good ole days when we never heard of a locked door.Setting rabbit gums has always been a pleasure for me.I have caught mice,cats,squirrels,a black snake,Hundreds of possum's.A possum hide would bring three dollars back then.And Mom could make the best squirrel gravy and hot biscuits in the world,I miss those wonderful days
