    Default Trolling under a full moon?


    Has anyone ever trolled at night under a full moon? Is it productive, Is it safe. Have next weekend off and there will be a full moon on Saturday.

    Pam, I do alot of nightstalking but never trolled in the dark so i really can't offer any ideas. Just thought I'd chime in with my opinion of the moon phases. I fish at night 3 weeks out of the month, I do not nightfish the week following a full moon. Been night fishing under lights for 20+ years & never have any luck following a full moon. Just seems to me that fish are very sluggish at night for 5 or 6 days following a full moon. Anyone else feel the same ???

    Thanks for the reply skeeterguy. Just thinking, night, no jet skies full moon can see a little and if trolling does not work out drop a light.

    I've never tried it for crappie, but we used to night troll for striper a lot and usually had some really good catches.
