    Default High Rock Advice Needed


    Im taking my nephew to High Rock this Fri. I would like to troll for crappie. Its been about 6 years since I have been to High Rock I could use some advice on where to fish and if anyone is catching them trolling also I will be coming in on hwy. 64 from mocksville and need to know where to put the boat in any help would be appreciated You can PM me if you like.     I am no expert by far, but most of the fish have been cought in 1-3 ft of water lately. Seems the spawn is finally starting. With sunshine and near 80 degree temps all week, i would fish shallow on friday. Try shooting docks, grass beds and shallow brush. Good luck and Don't Catch em all!

    Pulln, start out early fishing docks and bank brush, they are moving in. Don't stay anywhere too long. When the fishing slows around the bank start trolling 6-12 feet deep in water to 18 feet deep. When fishing the docks cast around the docks before moving in to fish the dock, most of the fish that I have caught from docks this week have been 5-25 feet from the dock in 3-6 feet of water.

    I had good success this morning throwing double jigs with no cork at the bank this morning. When I eased up to a gravel shoreline and began casting, I bet I caught a crappie on almost each cast till I had work em over pretty good. The males were very black, indicating the spawn is on. I would put in at Flat Swamp and work the shoreline....throwing or trolling with chart. jigs. As many crappies are staged up.... your son will be wore out if you troll many rods!!!
