on the water at 6am. caught fish all day long till I left at 2. Nothing big but still lots of fun. Must have caught 60 or more, crappies, bass, little stripers, 2 catfish. Biggest crappies were 3 12'' fish. didnt keep any, had probably 15 or 20 10'' or over. Still in the same creek area, in 10 to 14 ft. longlined 6 rods, 1/32nd jigheads. best color ended up being junebug/chartruese. lots of line out, trolled at .7 to .9, absolutely great day with believe it or not, no wind// no crowds. and man the cicadas are loud, sound like a sawmill running.

Yay, longlining lives! Glad you got out, caught fish, and passed the info along. Love those cicadas!

Good report. Thanks especially for sharing the speed. I spent the week at Emerald Isle trying for puppy drum and flounder with little success. I just finished putting all my rod holders on the boat and getting ready for longlining. Going to order a few jigheads first--lost quite a few this Spring and need to re-stock.
