I've never bought any minnows from Cedar Lodge tackle shop, as I live past it closer to the lake. I can tell you the fellow that runs that place is top notch, a good guy.

Anywhere you can buy minnows by the pound in the Hiway 8 area? Isn't that a wholesale bait place on the right just below Spartan Express?

Hawk....I am not sure that person below Spartan Express will sell to the public. Might want to check with Kellog..he knows him personally I believe. Might be able to get you in the back door.
Mimi's on Hi-way 8 at Feezer rd sells minnows by the pound. Just make sure they have plenty of room and lots of oxygen. I bought a pound for the night social in July and lost several before we got started. had em in a 10 gal water cooler with a good pump pushing plenty of air.
Kellog
Tom's in Kings Mnt. at Stoney Point and Oak Grove Rd. Good count and sells by the pound. I always get the Tuffy minnows, easier to keep alive in the well and on the hook
I can only wish to be as good as my dog thinks I am
Does anyone know if the minnow place is still open in Mt. Pleasant NC? They used to sell really nice jumbo shiners. How about the spur station in Concord?
I'm pretty sure the spur station still has minnows. Houston is a great guy too. I've known him for a while. I used to see a sign on Hwy. 73 near Hwy. 49 for a bait store down Moose Rd. I think, but I've never been to it. Is that the one you're talking about in Concord??
Thanks. I use jigs mostly but sometimes I'll take a few minnows too. When it's cool I can keep 8-10 dozen for several weeks in a big thick styrofoam cooler with just an aquarium pump. I have a 30 gal plastic barrel & a livewell pump I was thinking about rigging something up. I have a couple of posts bookmarked about pumps & filters for minnow tanks. Sounds like a good rainy day project.
