Nabbed my first batch of crappie of the year out at Prairie Queen today. Took me a few hours to really find what they were biting on. 1" white grub twisty tail with a small chartreuse jighead. Retrieve was very slow and the bite was relatively light. Found em in 7 - 9 feet of water, I thought they might have been staged a little deeper in the 9 - 15 feet range with the passage of the cold front and wind blowing against the jetty. Very cold to the touch, I would imagine if the sun is out and continues to warm that shallow area those crappie will keep there before they move again.
