You know, one thing that struck me during this whole thing. Is what has happened to college football nowadays. Because of polls and rankings now, its less about what your record is and more who you beat. Would Husker fans been as upset with Bo if he still had the 4 loss seasons, but was able to beat highly ranked opponents? For example, lets just say that the Huskers did beat Michigan St. and Wisconsin, but lost to McNeese St. and Rutgers? Would we still be ticked off about the season? Would the Huskers be ranked higher?

I don't think about the past that much, I move on. Which is why its difficult for me to come with an answer to this. But I wonder what others think about the notion that its not what your record is at the end of the season, its who you beat that counts. I tell you what though, I don't care for the talk that Mike Riley WILL do all these things at Nebraska. You don't necessarily know what any coach is gonna do or how his career will work out. You anticipate that Mike Riley will use this opportunity at Nebraska to take them to the next step. If not, well then, history will more than likely repeat itself. But I'll always be a fan of Huskers, 100% of the way.

Now as far as the coaches go, I think the same thing can be said about Bo, he was just a little bit to stubborn to bring in better guys. But you can't say all those guys on his staff were terrible. I think the off the radar recruits we brought in and the ability to send them into the NFL is a clear representation of how those were developed. I think guys like Ron Brown, Rich Fisher, and John Garrison have done relatively well. I think Kaz and Warren have done a well enough job. While I do like the change in the special teams, i don't really know who is responsible for that turnaround compared to last year.

I don't know who the rumored assistant coaches are, with the exception of Oregeron. I do know there is quite a bit of wiggle room for better assistants on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. i thought Tim Beck getting paid $700k was too much for him. So I do hope they fight a better guy for about the same price.
