The itch for crappie! I honestly haven't caught a crappie since my visit to Cunningham back in April. And believe me I have been trying at both Walnut Creek and Base Lake. No one that I talked to has caught a crappie yet out of the Base Lake, but I have a hard time believing they just disappeared. Extremely low water levels there probably had more to do with that. I've heard of folks catching them at Walnut Creek, but the bite has been very tough. I've heard the bite has been very good at Wehrspann right up till spawn. Now things are a bit quiet as the catfish and gills are getting ready for spawn.
