Well, I pulled an old 1970 something Min Kota 85 trolling motor out to see if I could rig it up get the motor to at least spin. I played around with it jumping wires and found out it was only the Fwd. Off Rev. switch wasn't working, so I pulled the boat into town and put it in the water to see how the motor would push it around. With a couple of alligator clips, I was able to cruise around the lakeThe speed control worked fine in forward and rev. I just had to jump the wires opposite for reverse. Don't think I'll have a problem finding a switch that will work. Probably won't work so well in heavy wind or currents, but gives me more options to get it on the water while I wait for the tune up kit to fix the Seaking.
If all works out with Bob, I'll be cruising around Spring Fork lake marking fish with a fish finder soon![]()
